Zaman’s New Home: The Hope for Humanity Center
Inkster Building Will Allow 10 Year-old Nonprofit To Better Serve Community
PRESS RELEASE
DEARBORN, Mich. (June 16, 2014) – Zaman International, a nonprofit organization with a 10 year track record of service to marginalized women and children in Metro Detroit and around the world, announces it has closed on the purchase of a 40,500 square-Âfoot building in Inkster, Mich. that will serve as the organization’s headquarters and center of operations.
The former Livernois Engineering building, at 26091 Trowbridge Street, south of Michigan Avenue and west of Beech Daly in Inkster, allows Zaman to consolidate six operating locations, including its previous headquarters office in Dearborn, Mich., into one, at no extra recurring cost to the organization. It will be known as Zaman International’s Hope For Humanity Center.
The Hope For Humanity Center will include Zaman’s headquarters office as well as space for its food bank, vocational training, clothing recycling and distribution, and furniture donation programs. It enables the organization to have the space to grow its programs for women and children as well as add educational programs, while responding to new needs as they emerge.
“The Hope For Humanity Center includes everything Zaman offers under one roof and is on a bus line, close to the members of our community who are most in need of Zaman’s services,” said Najah Bazzy, Zaman International’s executive director, a trans-cultural nurse who founded the organization in 2004. “This location allows us to be as cost-effective as possible and convenient for the people we serve and the volunteers who help our organization fulfill its mission every day,” added Bazzy.
The purchase includes a 18,000 square foot parking lot across the street from the main building, which could eventually be used for future expansion. The organization is currently raising funds for a renovation of the building.

About Zaman International:
"Zaman"means "time." During a crisis, response time is crucial. As people belonging to one human family, our time together is precious and limited, so it is important to think about how we will spend our time serving a cause greater than ourselves.
Zaman International provides hope to marginalized women and children whose basic needs would otherwise not be met. Our services include provision of food and clothing, shelter, dignified infant burial and skills training to prepare women to help themselves.
We serve women, children and families of all ethnic backgrounds and religions and can respond to urgent crises affecting women and children across Metro Detroit and around the world.
